2nd Post - Why did I change my career?

Justin, you graduated Kinesiology after studying for 4 years. Why did you decide to change careers?

My reason for wanting to change careers originates from 1 question: What makes life meaningful?

Other ways of asking the same question include:

What makes life worth living?

What is the purpose of life?

What is/are the most important thing(s) in life?

What makes people happy vs depressed?

What makes people feel fulfillment?

In my search to answer this question, I came across 2 individuals who's interpretation for "what makes life meaningful" really resonated with me. They were Jordan Peterson and Tony Robbins.

According to Jordan, life is suffering. And the way that you make life worth living is by taking on the most responsibility that you can bear and carrying that burden. In doing so, you experience a call to adventure. You will find that edge between what you know and don't know, between chaos and order, and that is where you experience engagement and personal growth. You will also be of more value to your family and your society.

Tony Robbins says that happiness comes from service and personal growth (with a focus on personal growth). No matter where you want to be, as long as there is progress, you're gonna love it and you will feel alive. On the flip side, no matter how successful you are, if you stop growing you will feel like you're dying on the inside. For most people, the place that people want to be is a place of success, and the way to achieve success is always through service.

After watching more of their content, I found that both Tony and Jordan propose that you can be who you want to be, and do it quickly if you define your goal/ desire and aim at it.

And so I made a goal and wrote it down. My goal was not to be a kinesiologist.

My goal is to be an entrepreneur making $100,000 in passive income in the next 5 years. My reason why is to escape the 9-5 and achieve financial freedom, to be a respected leader and teacher and to build assets - things that put money into my pocket. I wanted to make money through my assets, not through my income. If there was anything that I learned working or assisting in clinics it's that people with chronic problems usually believe that it is a result of them working too long (sitting at a desk for hours) or too hard (physical labor).

As of today, I am a self-employed independent (financial) advisor at Greatway, and I plan on building my own team of advisors. I will invest in the stock market in the same way that I would advise my clients (invest in index funds with participating bonuses while avoiding taxes). And once I make enough to invest a lump sum of $50,000, I will begin to invest in real estate and make money through rent.
